Badminton team of Punjab won four medals in All India Civil Services Tournament

All India Civil Services sports Tournament is organized by Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board New Delhi every year. This year Joint Director Sports Chandigarh Administration was given the responsibility to organise the All India Civil Services, Badminton (Men & Women) Tournament-2023-24.

Chandigarh administration organized this tournament from March 3 to March 9, 2024 in the badminton hall of Sector 42 and Sector 38 successfully. 11 male and 8 female players from Punjab team participated in this tournament in different age groups.

Out of these 19 players, 16 were officers and employees of Education Department Punjab. Manager of this team was Sukhjit Kaur Senior Assistant Punjab Civil Secretary and Coach was Harminder Pal Singh Education Department Punjab.

In this tournament, players from Punjab won four medals including one gold and three silver medals. Lecturer Ajay Pal Singh won gold medal in age group 45+, Principal Rajeev Handa got silver medal in age group 55+ and Principal Seema Saini got silver medal in single game and silver medal in double game in age group 55+. The rest of the players of the Punjab team also performed very well.

Punjab team included Rajeev Handa, Harbinder Pal, Raman Mehra, and Deepika Dua from district Jalandhar, Sajan Kumar from district Kapurthala, Neetu, Hardeep Kaur and Tezpreet Kaur from district Moga, Ajay Pal Singh from district Ludhiana, Jeevan Jot from district Patiala. Singh and Narish Kumar, Lavkesh Sharma and Ramandeep Singh from district Hoshiarpur, Damanjit from district Amritsar, Rajan Harish from district Nawanshahr, Jaswant Singh from district Barnala, Seema Saini from district Rupnagar participated.

Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair Minister of Sports Punjab, Harjot Bains Education Minister Punjab, Paramjit Singh Director Education Department (S.S), Sunil Kumar Bhardwaj Deputy Director (Physical Education), Kuljit Pal Singh Mahi former Director Education Department and Dr. Jagsir Singh congratulated the team for its performance.
