CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 30: As part of grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the naming of Ayodhya International Airport after great sage Maharishi Valmiki would disseminate message of truth, morality and spirituality in society. Lauding the move, the Punjab State BJP President Sunil Jakhar has expressed gratitude to BJP leadership and especially of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision.
All sections of society have expressed happiness over this decision, Jakhar said adding that disciples of Sanatan Dharam consider it another way to propagate ideals of the great Ramayana.
Ramayana composed by Adi Kavi Valmiki Ji tells us about the life of Maryada Purshotam Lord Sri Ram and is amalgam of all great values and teachings required for leading a spiritually fulfilled life, and the decision to name the Airport is another manner of befitting respect to Valmiki Ji, Jakhar said. His literary works and life have left a profound impact on our civilizational history, he said in a statement.
Across the world today, the need to promote peace and reconciliation has never been more acute, and Valmiki Ji’s creations contain that message of patience, truth and morality which everyone should imbue to make our world a better place, Jakhar said.
The Airport developed at a cost of more than ₹1,450 crore, will connect the holy city with the world will have an area of 6,500 square metres with an ability to serve more than 10 lakh passengers every year
